She completely stole the show in Cannes this week in a red Alexandre Vauthier silk wrap gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh split so eyewateringly high it ruled out the possibility of wearing underwear.

Bella Hadid, 19, looked as if she was millimetres away from a serious wardrobe malfunction with every pose she struck on the red carpet at the Unknown Girl premiere.

But now the model's stylist Elizabeth Sulcer, has revealed that the secret weapon that meant the star wasn't at risk of revealing too much - a hidden built-in bodysuit.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, the stylist revealed that she and Bella had worked together with designer Alexandre Vauthier to create something 'beautiful and iconic', saying: 'Every aspect of the dress was planned.'

Asked what was going on underneath the dress and if she had any tips for wearing a similar wisp of silk, she replied: 'The dress has a built-in silk bodysuit. Top-stick tape is always a good idea. Practice makes perfect.'

It explains why the model looked so confident as she posed up a storm on the red carpet, seemingly untroubled by the fear of revealing too much.

Bella's dress was completely backless with delicate spaghetti halterneck straps.

Although she went without underwear, a built-in bodysuit protected Bella's modesty
